Our Mission Statement
The Somerset Agriculture Education Department strives to educate students about American agriculture and to prepare them for future careers in the agriculture industry.

Classroom
Ag 1, 2, 3, 4
&
Ag Mechanics 1, 2
Agriculture classes 1, 2, 3 & 4 are in correspondence with grade level. Students start in Ag 1 and move up a level as they move up a grade. The material in each level becomes more advanced as students phase up. Agriculture Mechanics Seminar 1 & 2 are cohesive with Ag 3 & 4. Same ideology applies. Topics in each of these classes range across the agriculture field, but mainly focus on agriscience, ag mechanics, fundamentals and applications.
FFA
National FFA Organization
The National FFA Organization is an American 501 youth organization, specifically a career and technical student organization, based on middle and high school classes that promote and support agricultural education. FFA is an intracurricular student organization for those interested in agriculture and leadership.
SAE
Supervised Agricultural Experience
To be an active member in the National FFA Organization, a member must have a Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) project. The projects involve hands-on application of concepts and principles learned in the agricultural education classroom, with guidelines for the SAE projects governed by the state FFA delegation. The SAE project is managed through the Agriculture Experience Tracker or AET.
